Greek Art
Roman Art
• This particular sculpture is an eight foot tall statue of the roman
emperor Constantine. He was the first roman emperor to make Christianity legal.
The Romans, Greeks, and the Egyptians use sculptures to capture how powerful a
person is. With no facial expression we can see a powerful leader that was highly
respected. Roman art had a high sense of individuality that made their art stand
out in a unique way. Romans and Greeks had some differences in their art work.
The Greeks used realism in their art work to capture details. Romans used
little details but used different techniques in their art.

Hi Dilon- This is a fairly good essay-descriptive. My only critique is that your Hercules example is actually Greek as well, not Roman. Watch the online lecture again to review the qualities of Roman art , which are very different from the perfection of the Greeks.
